International Women’s Day is coming up on March the 8th, which is a great opportunity to celebrate all the great women in our workplaces and our lives. Have you thought about gender equity within your workplace?

Gender equity is a concept that aims to create a just and equal society where individuals are treated without prejudice or discrimination based on their gender. Gender equity means acknowledging and addressing the various ways in which gender affects individuals’ lives, including their opportunities, experiences, and outcomes.

It means acknowledging and working to eradicate the systemic barriers and biases that prevent people from achieving their full potential, regardless of their gender. This includes combating gender-based violence, promoting equal pay for equal work, and providing access to education, healthcare, and other resources.

Gender equity also means challenging harmful gender stereotypes and promoting gender equality in all aspects of society, including the media, politics, and the workplace.
This includes encouraging women and girls to pursue careers in fields traditionally dominated by men and on the flip side, promoting men’s involvement in traditionally female-dominated careers.
